Wendy & Paul in WedLuxe.

We first told you about Wendy & Paul’s chic Halloween wedding a few months ago in our post “The Masked Ball”. Now this opulent affair appears in the pages WedLuxe magazine. We thought we’d share a glimpse with you here.

Shayna & Dan in WedLuxe.

Melanie, Joelle and Shayna are sisters and partners at inBloom Event Design. As soon as Melanie began describing their plans for Shayna’s own wedding, Ikonica director, Jackson Huang, recognized the exciting potential for their event. Jackson also knew that Gillian Williamson and Lisa McPeek would be the perfect photographers for the assignment. Acting as co-leads, the duo’s photographs encapsulate the imaginative and charming realization of the vintage, circus-inspired theme. To complete the creative process, Ikonica’s post-production expert, Virginia LeBlanc, applied her astute colour knowhow to artfully underscore the whimsical nature of the imagery.

Pick up a copy of the Winter/Spring 2010 edition of WedLuxe and see for yourself why their editor Angela Desveaux calls Shayna and Dan’s wedding “one of my all-time favourites”.

“Iconic Inspiration: Coco Chanel” in WedLuxe.

Recently, T.H. Jackson Huang, Lidia Tacconelli (Fiori) and Melissa Haggerty (Spectacular Spectacular) collaborated to produce this feature editorial for the Winter/Spring 2010 edition of WedLuxe. The complex production was staged at the Ikonica studio and required a crew of 14 in order to fully realize the elaborate Coco Chanel inspired concept. A revealing glimpse behind the scenes can be found on the Spectacular Spectacular blog (Part 1 and Part 2).

Sarah & Rob in WedLuxe

The lush, natural simplicity of Sarah’s family farm set the tone for her wedding to Robert on June 21, 2008. Tall wooden columns adorned with peonies and evergreen boughs led the way to the ceremony which was set within a giant white tent situated beside a river.

Décor designer William Fulghum of Church Street Flowers used lucite panels suspended from the ceiling, hundreds of candles, soft white carpeting and five thousand white peonies to create a lavish white haven for the dinner reception. He worked with Melissa Haggerty of Spectacular Spectacular, who helped plan and coordinate the day.

Sarah and Robert’s wedding was the Canadian Wedding Industry Award’s 2008 ‘Wedding of the Year’ winner. Pick up the Summer/Fall 09 edition of WedLuxe Magazine to see more or view the article online.

Nicole & Adam in WedLuxe

For their decadent, black tie wedding on June 27, 2008, Graydon Hall was transformed into a garden wonderland. Nicole, Managing Director of Graydon Hall Manor and also co-owner of Couture Cuisine, shared in the planning with Adam to ensure it was deeply personal to them both. Inspiration for the coral-colored palette came from a piece of Japanese paper Nicole discovered at a stationary shop. Following the ceremony in the main garden, guests moved into the dining tent where chef Arpi Magyar treated all to an amazingly luscious dinner. For dessert, a spectacular ice cream sundae by Ice Culture was presented in a hand-carved ice goblet topped with a 24-inch sparkler.
